How are artists legally able to sell fan art at anime or comic conventions?

I am an animation student that is interested in selling art work at different conventions. I noticed that most people were selling fan art at Anime Expo and I am just curious as to how this is legally possible. Would it be best to try to sell my (completely unheard of) original artwork or create some fan art? I never create fan art normally but I would like to get my name out there and show my ability and it seems that usually people swarm the fan art.

I’ve been trying to convert some of my drawings into lineart.The problem is that I’ve never done it before,and the ‘normal way’ that everyone tells me I’m supposed to do it is to complicated for me.Does anyone know a free art program that has a simpler process for converting a scanned drawing into line art?

How much talent does someone need in order to pursue an art major?

I’m currently a junior in high school considering an art major in college. However, I’m not too knowledgeable on how the art major works. Mainly, I’m worried that I don’t have enough talent. What should your drawing skills include or be around if you want to major in art in college? If you’re not very good, could you still be able to be successful in the major?

When I used on the eastcoast, big lots used to have the best art work for 20 dollars only, but hee in CA is very expensive.I even went to the swapmeet and found nothing but all expensive ones.

How do I make a good-looking pixel art (or Photoshop) alphabet?

Any style that looks good. Jelly or bubble art. Stone or flowers. Cute or professional. It doesn’t matter. I just need something that looks good, with thorough instructions for making my own.

The final product will be a set of flash cards. I’d also like to use the same technique to make a set of playing cards. So you know what I’m going for–I’m not looking for just a black outline filled with a solid color. I want something that looks like a lot of talent went into it.

The tutorial could be specifically about lettering, or it could be about coloring simple shapes (since letters are shapes).

I prefer pixel art, but a Photoshop tutorial (hundreds of colors, layers, filters, and so on) would be fine if it looks good.

If nobody answers my question, I’m okay with that. What I don’t like is when people post imbecilic non-answers that serve only to lower my opinion of humanity.

Reading and thinking are important skills that you should exercise at all times!

What do you call drawing OTHER people, not just drawing people. For example I have a friend named John, what do you call the art of drawing him and not just drawing an imaginary person? I just want to know what you call it, how to do it will also be very very nice cause I am interested in learning. I live in the Philippines and if you know any place where there are lessons, please tell me.
