What are the importance and influence on art of the Egyptian artifacts?

I am planning to see Tutankhamen and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs at the Dallas museum of art. As n artist myself I was wondering on the opinions some of you may have regarding the influence of the Egyptian artifact in art?
