How can I get my art work into art galleries and museums?

3
If I wanted to start submitting my art work to galleries and museums, what would be the best way to go about that? How would I submit my work? What are some of the best ways to creat a portfolio? Any help on the subject would be wonderful, thanks.

Instead of wasting your time on Yahoo!answers, create a network of friends, penetrating friends. The ones who spend time on this web site, including me, are bored or have nothing to do. If you have a talent, find good friends that can advertise you.

I want to become a tattoo artist so what i did was take pictures of all of my favorite pieces, bought an album for scrapbooking and arranged some sketches and script in it as well. Then it’s just a matter of getting someone to take the time to take a look, if your talented it shouldn’t be a problem.
Make sure that you have enough pieces for a gallery, or at least a section of the gallery, and a name for your set of pieces so that you start out professional.

All the art galleries have a submission process. Call and ask when their judgings are. Start at your smaller galleries- or you can have your own gallery opening. Rent out a small space and invite all of your friends and family. Set up a jazz band or something.
